Freddie Ljungberg

Footballer and ‘massive gay icon’ Freddie Ljungberg is

revealed as a favourite to star in the next series of CBB.

Fans have already seen him in his underwear, but now they could get the chance to see Freddie Ljungberg on the small screen.

The 34-year-old footballer is rumoured to be one of Channel Five’s favourites for the next series of Celebrity Big Brother as they believe he will ‘sex up’ the show.

The Swedish sportsmen – who has modelled for Calvin Klein in the past- is not only a hit with the ladies, but he is also said to be an icon among gay men too.

According to the Daily Star, Ljungberg is a huge fan of the reality show but was unable to sign up for it last year due to his work commitments while playing for Japanese club Shimizu S-Pulse.

However, he left the club by mutual consent last month and is now free to sign up for the next series.

‘The man is unbelievably attractive and won’t just have the girls hot under the collar,’ a Celebrity Big Brother insider told the newspaper.

‘He’s a massive gay icon so we know his male admirers will be desperate to spy on him in the house. And who wouldn’t want to share a house with him?’

The latest series of the Channel Five show saw Loose Women star Denise Welch take home the crown following much drama in the house with U.S. Playboy twins Karissa and Kristina Shannon, former Glamour model Nicola McLean and Hollywood actor Michael Madsen.

‘The last series was fantastic,’ the insider added. ‘Now we want to build on that and are looking at the best personalities out there.’

However, as usual TV bosses are doing their best to keep possible future housemates a secret, with a spokesperson saying: ‘Big Brother execs are currently in talks with a number of celebrities but we are not confirming any names at the moment.’
